The ONE Campus Challenge: Official Rules and Consumer Disclosure

NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO WIN.

The ONE Campus Challenge ("OCC") was designed to allow students to use their creativity to spread ONE's message of ending extreme poverty. By participating in the OCC, you agree to the following rules, which must be adhered to in order to be eligible for any and all prizes outlined below.

Overview
OCC will begin for all schools in the 50 United States and the District of Columbia at 12:00 am EST on Monday, September 9, 2013 at which point participants may enter the competition by completing the form available on the ONE website (www.one.org). The ONE Campus Challenge will conclude at 11:59 pm EST on December 6, 2013.

Regular "challenges" for all schools will begin at 12:00 am EST on Monday, September 9, 2013. In addition to contest points, ONE may, at its discretion, also award prize(s) to schools that win monthly challenges depending on availability. Prizes may include, but are not limited to: ONE merchandise such as t-shirts and stickers, campus visits by ONE staff, trips to DC by selected representatives of the winning school(s), documentary screening rights, and speakers on campus.

In addition, ONE will invite the ONE Chapter Leaders to come to Washington, DC for a conference on student activism, advocacy and ONE (called the "ONE Summit"). ONE may, at its sole discretion, cover up to $1,000 of expenses per student leader, including hotel and airfare. ONE shall not cover any other costs or expenses.

Throughout the course of the OCC, ONE reserves the right to award participants and schools in their effort to further ONE's mission and message. ONE reserves the right to add additional prizes and programming throughout OCC. Participants will be notified of additional prizes and programming at www.one.org/campus.
 
General Rules
Every action taken by participants in conjunction with this contest must comply with local, state and federal laws.
ONE will not reimburse participants for expenses they incur during the contest.

ONE is a non-partisan organization and does not favor or discriminate against any political party. ONE does not support or oppose any candidate for public office.

Participants must be respectful that they are representing ONE's brand and its mission during the contest and while carrying out contest challenges and activities. Any activities or behavior that ONE, at its sole discretion, deems to be inconsistent with, or in opposition to, ONE's message may result in disqualification from this contest.

Participants must abide by all college and university rules. Participants must abide by all college and university licensing and copyright rules and regulations. Sanctions for such violations are the responsibility of each participating college or university based on their own rules and regulations.

ONE reserves the right to alter the contest rules in any way, at any time.
 
Prizes and Eligibility
In order to be eligible for this contest, participants must be 18 years of age or older as of the date of your contest submission; residents of Alabama and Nebraska must be 19 years of age or older and residents of Mississippi must be 21 years of age or older as of the submission date. All participants must be currently registered as full-time students in good standing at a college oruniversity accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting agency contained on the list published by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education pursuant to the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended. In addition, you must meet any other eligibility requirements as set forth below.

Colleges and universities must be physically located, and incorporated, in one or more of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia. Directors, officers, and employees of ONE, its parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, distributors, agents, professional advisors, printers, and advertising, promotional and judging agencies and the immediate family members of such directors, officers or employees, and persons living in the same household as such directors, officers or employees (whether related or not) are not eligible.

Prizes for the contest will only be awarded to eligible participants.
Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash or alternate prizes except by ONE, which may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the featured prize becomes unavailable.

The estimated chance of winning will depend on the number of entrants. Odds of a school winning are roughly 1/2,500; odds of an individual student winning are roughly 1/5,400. Except where prohibited by law, participants grant to ONE (which grant will be confirmed in writing on request of ONE), its affiliates, retailers, distributors, advertising agencies, suppliers, and those acting pursuant to its authority, the right and permission to print, publish, broadcast, and use, worldwide in any media now known or hereafter developed, including but not limited to the world wide web, at any time or times, eachparticipant's name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness, and biographical information for advertising, trade, and promotional purposes (including theannouncement of his or her name on television or radio broadcast) without additional consideration, compensation, permission, or notification. The winner's list will be posted on the website at the time of announcement.

The grand prize shall be determined by The ONE Campaign at its sole discretion.
 
Submissions
All submissions become the property of ONE and will not be returned to participants. ONE and its designees shall have the perpetual, worldwide right to edit, publish, and use the submission in any way and in any media for trade, advertising, promotional, and/or other purposes as ONE and/or its designees may determine without further consideration, permission, or notification to participants or any third party.
 
You represent, warrant and agree that you are the sole creator of your submissions, or, if you are not the sole creator of your submissions, you have the express permission of any person who assisted you in preparingyour submissions.

Your submission must not contain any inappropriate or offensive material, as determined solely by ONE. Any submission, which in the sole opinion of ONE, is deemed inappropriate (e.g., defamation, nudity, pornography, gratuitous violence, inappropriate language, obscenity, illegality, racial or moral offensiveness, etc.) or is inconsistent with the theme or image of the promotion may be rejected and will result in disqualification. Moreover, your submission must comply with all laws, rules , and regulations including, but not limited to, those concerning copyright, plagiarism, trademark, defamation and invasion of privacy. You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless ONE and its affiliates, licensees, successors and assigns from and against any and all liability, losses, costs and expenses (including attorneys' fees) incurred as a result of any submission you submit to ONE in violation of any terms contained in these Official rules.

ONE reserves the right to contact participants and request copies of submitted materials.

The participant must have the legal right to use and transfer to ONE all photos, text and other materials used in the participant's submissions or otherwise in the OCC.

Photos -- All photographs should be submitted on a valid www.flickr.com account. URL for photo submission must then be reported to OCC at www.one.org/campus.
Photos -- All submissions to www.flickr.com have to be labeled with a Creative Commons non-commercial license. Noncommercial means: You let others copy, distribute, display, and perform your work -- and derivative works based upon it -- but for noncommercial purposes only.
Video/Audio -- All video/audio submissions should be uploaded to www.youtube.com using a valid account. URL for video/audio submissions must then be reported to OCC at www.one.org/campus.
Video/Audio -- No video/audio submissions may be uploaded to www.one.org at any time during the challenge.

Written Materials -- A written materials must be submitted following the rules and regulations at www.one.org/campus.

Written Materials -- ONE reserves the right to use any written materials as they see fit once they have been submitted.
Neither ONE, its affiliates nor representatives are responsible for lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, or non-delivered submissions; or for interrupted or unavailable satellite, network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), website, telephone or other connections, availability or accessibility, or miscommunications, or failed computer, satellite, telephone or cable transmissions, or lines, or technical failure or jumbled, corrupted, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions or computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures, or technical errors or difficulties, or other errors of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic or network or the incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry or other information or the failure to capture, or loss of, any such information.

Internal Judging
Any portion of the competition that requires internal judging will be adjudicated by a panel consisting of ONE staff. These judges are paid employees of ONE and were selected for their impartiality. None of the judges are current students. Each of the judges has experience with issue-based advocacy, student organizing and/or national outreach programs. The judges will judge the submissions on the following criteria: 1) creativity, 2) reach, 3) ability to produce effective advocacy, and 4) impact on the community. ONE reserves the right to remove or substitute judges as necessary.
 
Disqualification
ONE reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any participant or school for any reason at any time throughout the contest, including, but not limited to, disqualifying any participant and/or school where ONE finds a participant to be attempting to tamper with or undermine the submission process, the website, and/or the legitimate operation of this contest; to violate these rules or the OCC rules; or to act in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner or with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other person.

ONE can and will, at its sole discretion, disqualify and/or dock points based on any violation of the rules, whether concrete or subjective.
 
Release and Limitations of Liability

By participating in this contest, participants agree that ONE, its affiliates and representatives, and their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives, and agents, will have no liability whatsoever for, and shall be held harmless by participants against, any liability for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind to persons, including personal injury or death, or property resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation in this contest or any other OCC-related activity, from acceptance, possession, misuse, or use of the prize or entry, or any claimsbased on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy, or merchandise delivery. Participants agree that ONE, its affiliates and representatives, and their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives, and agents, will not be responsible or liable for any injuries, damages, or losses of any kind, including direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of access to and use of website site www.one.org or anyother website operated by ONE or its affiliates, or from downloading from and/or printing material downloaded from said websites. Without limiting the foregoing, everything regarding the OCC contest, including the website and all prizes, are provided AS IS without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Some jurisdictions may not allow the limitations or exclusions of liability for incidental or consequential damages or exclusion of implied warranties, so some of the above limitations or exclusions may not apply.
